On this page, you’ll find the services that Neighbors In Need offers our community on a weekly basis!
Our standard hours to receive food is Tuesdays between 11 AM to 6 PM. Sign up is simple and you can begin receiving food the same Tuesday you come in. We try to never miss a Tuesday, though sometimes the snow has a different plan for us. The only two holidays that we reschedule our distribution day for are Christmas and New Years, and even then we still distribute, we just change the day. This will always be posted on our Facebook account in advance! Even during the pandemic, we never missed a Tuesday – we are committed to being here for Skagit County!
Mobile Food is a supplementary program for people who are unable to come to the food bank during regular distribution hours due to a medical condition or disability. We have two routes that alternate weeks. If this sounds like something that might be of assistance to you, please contact us to see if you are eligible! We would like to thank Puget Sound Energy Foundation for sponsoring this program.
Our Backpack Program provides low income children who struggle with food insecurity at home when they are not at school on the weekends with essential food to ensure that they come to school on Mondays having eaten and ready to learn. We work alongside representatives from our local schools to ensure food is delivered to students that need it on a weekly basis. This program supports hundreds of children in our community each week, and numbers continue to rise. If you have a child in the Mount Vernon School District that would benefit from being in this program, please reach out to our Operations Manager, Paige, so that she can connect you with the correct representative from your child’s school. Her email is [email protected].
